Hi everyone 🙂
The title of this blog post pretty much sums me up at the moment. With working on the second Kacie Rayne novel, my secret project, sorting out my writing/release schedule, and working on Kacie’s cover, I am feeling like a spinning top. Fortunately, it is slowing down enough for me to get a grip on things and retain what remains of my sanity. So, the situation at the moment is the second round of edits on Kacie’s book are now underway and my secret project is moving forward at an even pace. The only thing taking time is my release schedule for the rest of the year. I do have an idea of the books I want to publish, it’s just working out if I can get them done by the end of 2021.
If you want to check out my latest release, Betrayed, while you are waiting for the second Kacie Rayne novel, it’s available across all major platforms 🙂
Well, that’s all for now, so until next time, stay safe and well.
Hi everyone 🙂
Welcome to the start of a new month, one which is going to be busy for me. As the arrival of a fresh month is in a way a new chapter, I’m going to start getting things in my writing world into something more resembling order and not chaos. The main thing is the second Kacie Rayne novel which will, come hell or high water, be released the first week of August. Sticking to that means me getting a handle on both time and project management, which I aim to do (and is something I see involving lots of coffee and probably gnashing of teeth).
I’m still working on my secret project which will not be released until Jan ’22, so I can take my time with that. I will also be sorting out my release schedule for the rest of the year, so watch out for upcoming announcements regarding what other books will be seeing the light of day 🙂
One thing I have been struggling with is promotion. It is the present bane of my existence, but it is also something I need to get to grips with, so wish me luck with that as I’m definitely going to need it! Hopefully dealing with everything will not sap too much of my remaining sanity, but we will see 😉
Well, that’s all for now. So until next time, take care and stay safe.
I think it’s safe to say that so far this week has been borderline chaos. Between trying to deal with the heat, humidity, and various characters demanding my attention, I am straddling the line between chaos and insanity – though I’m starting to get the impression that line is morphing into a skipping rope. One that is on fire.
Despite all that I have by some minor miracle or stroke of luck managed to get some work done and the second Kacie Rayne novel is well underway, with the first draft close to completion. Two other projects I’m working on are ticking along nicely and if things continue as they are going I might be able to release one at the end of the year. Regarding my latest release – Betrayed, that is now available across multiple platforms 🙂
Well, that’s all for now, so back I go to the fiery skipping rope.
Until next time, take care and stay safe.
Well, it’s the start of a fresh new month which means time to set some monthly goals. I’ve started on the next Kacie Rayne novel which I’m aiming to get both the first draft and first round of edits completed on by month’s end. Also on my monthly plan is completing my website and brand revamp, though I’ll be honest and say that if I only manage to complete the website I’ll be happy with that achievement for June. By mid month my writing/publishing schedule for the rest of the year will be in place which will help me greatly going forward.
I do have other things written down that need to be done, but last month I tried to do too much and ended up overwhelming myself. So, going forward things are going to be evened out better to prevent that from happening.
Well, that’s all for now, so until next time, take care and stay safe.
Well, we are almost at the end of another month so it is time to look back. To say it’s been eventful might just cover how I see it. After navigating a few issues, Betrayed, my latest novel is finally out across Amazon and Smashwords. I’m waiting for it to hit other platforms, and as soon as I receive notification that has happened I will amend the universal link on my Facebook Page. While May hasn’t been the easiest of months to get through, it has shaken me enough that I’ve set in place a new writing schedule. I’ve also made the decision to start a course in fiction writing.
As writers we are always striving to learn, to grow, and that is why I’m undertaking this course. I want to grow as a writer so that I can achieve my goal of writing full time, and I know with hard work and determination I will succeed.
Well, that’s all for now. So until next time, take care and stay safe.
Sorry for the ear worm I might have sparked with my post title, but it’s appropriate given how this week is going. One thing I promised myself I wouldn’t do is put myself under pressure regarding my writing, and what have I done? Yes, you guessed it, I broke my promise. It’s so easy to slip back into bad habits without realizing your on that path, fortunately I managed to catch myself before I fell down the rabbit hole at the end. I know some pressure is okay, but when it gets to the point it turns into a weight pressing down on you, that’s when you have to step back and look at what’s going on.
I’ve realized that one of the main things for me is setting fixed release dates for my books, so that is something I’m pushing pause on for a while. My characters need their stories told in the best way I can do it, so lifting that weight off is going to help achieve that. Only when my characters and myself have reached a point in the story we are happy with will I announce a date – and not before.
Regarding my upcoming release, it looks on track for release on Kindle on the 19th, but if that should have to change then I will post it on my Facebook Page. The second Kacie Rayne novel is moving along nicely and I’m going over my release schedule for the rest of the year to see what other releases I have planned. I am working on something new, but that will not be seeing the light of day until early 2022.
Well, that’s all for now. So until next time, stay safe and well.
April is behind us and May is a new chapter, one I fully intend on making as amazing as possible. I’ve a lot of plans set for this month and the following two months, but the focus for May rests on Betrayed and the second Kacie Rayne novel. I’m currently on the last read through of Betrayed, checking to make sure I’ve not overlooked anything which could throw a proverbial monkey wrench into hitting my release date. So far, so good, and if all continues along this path it will hit Kindle on May 17th.
I will be getting back to work on the second Kacie Rayne novel at the end of this week and I’m hoping to get it on Kindle mid June. Fortunately I’ve already written half the first draft so that target should be reached okay. With all that going on I’m also getting the revamp of my website underway, along with my rebranding, so I’m a busy Raven.
Well, that’s all for now, so I’m off to get some more editing done. Take care and stay safe and well.
Hi everyone 🙂
I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Here in the world of Raven things are getting clearer. I have to admit that last week wasn’t exactly spectacular, but at the end of it I had what I suppose you would call a mini epiphany. While on one level I was moving forward I realized over the weekend that there were still ties to the past which needed dealing with. Gaining that realization has helped me deal with them and make concrete plans regarding my writing career. So there will be a few changes made as I start setting things in place and as they happen I will let you know 🙂
Regarding my writing, Betrayed, which is my next release is entering the final edit stage and if all continues to go to plan it will be released on Amazon on…May 10th. The blurb and a teaser can be found on my Facebook page. My next release will be the second Kacie Rayne novel, more details will follow when I have them.
I’ve dropped the amount of social media I’m on, so you can find me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Goodreads. You can also check out what books I have currently published on my website and on my Amazon Author Page.
Well, that’s all for now, so until next time, take care.
Do you ever get times when you really need a metaphorical kick in the rear? Well, that’s what I got today and after calming down I realized it was something I needed. There’s been a lot of things going on which I’ve allowed, unconsciously, to start impacting my writing and my plans regarding it. It’s so easy to slide into a situation or circumstance without realizing what is going on and hard to drag yourself back to where you need to be.
Today I got home from my day job and settled down to work on edits, which I accomplished. I was going to get some more done after grabbing a snack – and that’s when I got pulled sideways. Emails arrived from work which needed answering, then there was getting food cooked, and also feeding the kitteth. By the time I’d finished I was frazzled and ready to call it a day. That was when my, how can I put this without sounding like I have bats in the belfry – inner voice yelled for my attention. When I listened, it asked me what I was doing. What about my plans? What about my ambitions and my determination to become a full time writer by the end of the year?
I have to admit the kick up the rear had me stop, take a step back, and look at the situation. By doing that I realized I was letting other things create a barrier preventing me from staying on track. Now I know, I can clear my head, refocus my attention and lock my determination back in place. I know I will make the occasional slip, but with my focus back where it should be the barriers shouldn’t be so hard to remove.
So, it’s time to grab a coffee, fire up word, and get back to work.
Until next time, take care and stay safe 🙂
Well, I had my first Covid shot last week and fortunately the only side effect I suffered was a sore arm where the needle went in. So that meant apart from a few additional breaks my writing schedule remained unchanged, which I was thankful for. The latest round of Betrayed edits has been completed, so that is being set aside for a day before I read it through for what I’m hoping will be the final time. Though I’ve learned never to count my chickens before they’ve hatched where my writing is concerned.
My muse, bless her, seems to have upped her caffeine intake because while I was working on edits she dropped a new story idea into my mind. I have the bare bones written down but I won’t be starting on it until I’ve caught up on my release schedule. Given the number of books I’m set to work on, this new story probably won’t see the light of day – or a word document until the latter part of the year. When I make a final decision I’ll let you all know 🙂
If you want to know more about me, I can be found on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Goodreads. If you are curious about my books then please head over to either my website or my Amazon Author Page where you will find them listed 🙂
That’s all for now, so until next time stay safe and well.
