I’ve just started the first round of edits on the second Nocturnus novel and the title of this post sums up how I feel about it. I know editing is a necessary evil and has to be done so that as a writer I can put out the best book possible, but that doesn’t mean I have to love it. Saying that, I have found the more I do, the less it feels like a chore and more like a task with a lesson at the end.
Like most things in life it is a learning curve and while I might not know it at the time, I’m filing away information my brain can access when required and that in turn helps to make me a better writer. So bring on the coffee, give me some chocolate, and let the editing (and learning) continue 🙂
